Union Gospel Mission's Gifts of Hope
Understanding the great joy that can come from giving to others, Wind & Tide began its partnership with Union Gospel Mission (UGM) and its annual Toy Drive in 2007. Committed to instilling the importance of caring for others in the children we teach, Wind & Tide students collected and donated new toys for holiday hampers that UGM distributed to hundreds of families in need across the Lower Mainland at Christmas time.
Since we first embarked on this annual giving initiative, the response from Wind & Tide's students and families has been overwhelming. Inspired and driven by our students' genuine desire to make a more meaningful difference in the lives of local children and their families at Christmas, Wind & Tide embraced a new tradition by participating in UGM's Christmas Hamper Program, Gifts of Hope.
Every November, students from all our Wind & Tide campus locations come together as a community to provide hampers complete with food, clothing, and gifts, to help alleviate some of stresses of the holidays, and gives families in need the chance to experience some of the joys that have become a part of the Christmas season. Families who receive our Gifts of Hope hampers are deeply touched by the generosity of our students for making their Christmas a truly memorable and special time.
